TLDR: We're the family behind Cure Cocktail who made the news delivering cocktails. We recently had our immediate family laid off from their casino jobs in Las Vegas. So today we are launching - Hawaiian and Filipino BBQ to go on Uber Eats with Remedium Island Grill. If you are able to support us and enjoy BBQ, Burgers and more, we hope you enjoy our expansion of our family's food offerings. UPDATE and why we're foundingRemedium Island Grill our sister restaurant. Since March 15th and Inslee's bar closure mandate - to the scattered phases, tear gas at Cal Anderson, the creation of CHOP and more, we've been pulling through as a family and small business as best we can. We still host virtual zoom happy hours and bartending classes, and deliver charcuterie, cocktails and wine to the safety of your home! In Las Vegas, where we were originally from, casinos were also shutdown due to the virus. Boyd Gaming and the Station Casinos immediately laid off staff, and also used the opportunity to replace all senior staff for those with lower wages. ie - our parents. Two big factors - Our parents are only a few years away from retirement and Medicare, AND our lease at Cure Cocktail ends soon, and we always wanted a spot with a full service kitchen. For those who've been to our small bar - we've never had a full kitchen with stove and hood. Remedium is an expansion of Cure - we thank you all for voting our bartender Joe as Seattle's favorite bartender - and now with mom and dad here we hope to serve you at the dinner table as well. Remediumis about heritage. Authentic cuisines that we grew up with. Mom was born in Guam, raised in the Philippines, moved to Hawaii as dad was stationed there with the Navy. The Pacific Islands and it's BBQ flavors - comfort foods, unapologetic mixes with other cuisines - American (Hawaiian Burger), Japanese (Saimen/Ramen Noodles and Masubi), Chinese with Shanghai Lumpia, we know will be a great complement to the diverse tastes here in the PNW. In the coming weeks we will slowly open with socially distanced in-dining on 15th and Pine. We'll start first with Uber Eats and food(charcuterie and now BBQ!) deliveries with our Cure Cocktail. Then we'll open our walk-in takeout window for you to experience our Steak, Chicken and shrimp kebabs. Hell we'll give you a literal pineapple with your meal! We hope to serve you at our new bar, and serve you some great food. Then we can talk and reminisce about how much a roller coaster ride these months have been. Hello, My name is Kim, I want to start off by saying that I always had a great life! My family was big and we were all close. I have two brothers and 3 sisters ,I am the youngest.. My mother was going through the change after having me so my sister basically raised me.. My father gave us all a good life . I lost both my brothers, one to cancer and the other hit by a drunk driver. Although I was young when my first brother passed, my other brother David was very close to me and I miss him every day.. My mother passed this past March and I must say, it's the worst feeling .. I wish I could just talk to her one more time for advice.. With that being said, I met someone who was there for me or so I thought. I had a good job working in the casinos cocktail serving . We both decided that we would head to Fl for the warm weather and its where I always wanted to be.. So we did it.. It was the best day ever! After not too long I was engaged, but he started doing things that just were not nice to me. He would say things like I know your fu@@ someone at work when in fact it was him doing that. He didnt have any respect for me when out in public. His family didnt even come to see him . I can only asume they knew what was going to happen. I started to think I had a narcissist on my hands and I was so right. No matter what I did, it was never enough. I was called names, told I was ugly , old ect.. I though after him throwing me out several times and then wanting to take me back that he would change, but no it just got worse! He started trouble with my friends so they wouldn't want to bother with me anymore and I have lost friendships over this. He started to become violent with me by throwing hot coffee on me , choking me and putting his hands on me. Then finally threw me out on the st with no where to go.. I had a bit of money as nd tried to survive and stay at hotels , but the money eventually ran out and I found myself sleeping outside. While I was doing this, he took all my belongings and threw them out along with pictures of my children, family and my mother. I finally was at my breaking point and came back to Nj to stay with a friend until I find work. I came from Fl here with shorts and a pair of sandals because that's all I had left to my name.. I now realize I was with a narcissist and he can not be changed. He continues to tell people lies and has went way over the top to ruin my life. I will no longer let him do this to me, but I do need help now. I cant believe I'm actually writing this, but I'm thg that despite. I am asking for help in replacing anything I have lost. I did have a few things that I had left here, but nothing to even go on an interview to wear.. I have no shoes or boots or even a coat that fits.. I sold my car before leaving for fl because he had 2 and said sell the car and we can use mine, so I sold that also. I have never had to go to anyone for help, but I actually feel that despite that I had to try this and hope to get some kind of help.. How good is the cocktail service in casinos during Covid these days?
With bars shut down (I'm assuming that includes bars inside casinos), I'm afraid I might not be able to get drinks quick enough. How is the cocktail service these days? Do they have plenty of servers? Are they attentive? Any recommendations you could make for someone who is often thirsty? Are you allowed to bring outside drinks inside the casinos?
